THE BUILDER’S STORYFor over 25 years, the partners of Starfish Properties have been developing, managing, and building properties in Canada and the US. Starfish has demonstrated its dedication to the renewal of downtown Halifax and is continuing to do so. The Roy is the most recent and best example of Starfish’s commitment to the long-term growth and development of Halifax.

When Louis Reznick and Westdale Construction Co. partnered to form Starfish, their goal was to create a company that drew on their collective wealth of experience and resources in the construction and development industries. Mr. Reznick has been prominently involved in the redevelopment of Barrington Street in addition to a number of different commercial and residential projects in Canada and Florida. His knowledge of development and his keen eye for future trends have provided him with the necessary skills and expertise to build beautiful and functional spaces which are valued by residents, tenants, and citizens alike.

Westdale has been building value for its tenants and clients through refurbishing, retrofitting and managing real estate properties for over 50 years. This family oriented company has emphasized the local community and environment in its developments across 4 Canadian provinces and 14 US States. Westdale’s participation in a variety of luxury high-rise condominiums, including One Bloor in Toronto, has provided additional invaluable insight into the construction and development of condominium projects on the scale of The Roy.

INTERIOR DESIGN U31 is a Toronto based, award-winning interior design firm whose creative work has been recognized both internationally and locally by industry groups and media outlets. With almost twenty years of experience, Kelly Cray, Principal Creative at U31 is leading the design team for the striking interiors at The Roy condominium. Kelly has received the International Council of Interior Architects and Designers RING Award and was most recently recognized by the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario for his design of 101 Erskine condominium and The Tridel Store; his belief that good design should be thought provoking, satisfy the senses and be functional is evident in the inspiring details and finishes of The Roy.
